About Margaret Montavon

Margaret Montavon is an actor, producer, writer, and educator who believes in harnessing the transformative power of the arts to tell meaningful stories, spark crucial dialogues, incite curiosity, and inspire creativity and positive social change.  Margaret holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Marymount Manhattan College, a Master's in Education from Northeastern University, and is a graduate of the Upright Citizen's Brigade Improvisation Training Program, where she developed her love for comedy and telling stories with heart and humor. In addition to her starring turns as a dead body on CBS' Unforgettable and a victim on Law & Order: SVU, Margaret has also performed at the Arias Theatre, the 42nd Street Theatre, the Times Square Arts Center, and with the St. Jean’s Players. Margaret has taught music, theater, and dance at the Marymount School of New York, Artistree Performing Arts Center, and Encore Stage & Studio. Margaret is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA who has just published her second children’s book, Freckle Face and the Misplaced Waste and recently produced the acclaimed short film When We Arrive As Flowers. As co-founder of the production company Pipe Dream, Margaret is also developing & executive producing several forthcoming film and television projects, including RubyDisruptor, and Offbeat.
